Tech Firm Muvi Hosts a Plantation Drive in Sikharchandi Nagar

BHUBANESHWAR, August 18, 2018 — City-based tech firm Muvi Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. hosted a tree plantation drive with fervor at Sikharchandi Nagar yesterday. The event is yet another try by Muvi Foundation, the non-profit extension of the company aiming at improving individual life and social betterment. 

The plantation drive was organized to create cognizance about providing natural shade in open spaces which will help in reducing heat and bettering air quality. Marking the start of the drive, Sheel Jena, Manager HR, Muvi,  planted tree saplings in the Government UP school. More than fifty Muvi employees who participated in this noble cause planted approximately 200 saplings in and around the school including the slum area of Sikharchandi Nagar. The saplings included a range of medicinal and fruit-bearing plants. In order to provide shade to pedestrians in the future, a few saplings were also planted on the roadside.

While addressing the ceremony, Sheel quoted, “Planting a tree is an effort with a purpose. Our purpose is to make the city green and healthy. We want to protect our environment against pollution and help restore the natural ambiance of the city for which it is known for. We want a smart city later. We want a green city first.”

The Muvians had a fun-filled session with the localities during the drive and the colorful ceremony concluded with a small refreshment session. The event was managed by Team Muvi Life and local volunteers.
